Sadness From The Swift Camp Today

Taylor Swift posted a message on her Tumblr page yesterday (4/9) to share some very sad news: her mom has been diagnosed with cancer. In her post titled "Just so you know…," Taylor told fans that she asked her mom to go to the doctor to get screened for any health issues as a Christmas gift to her and to ease some of her worries. Swift said that there weren't any red flags to suggest anything was wrong, but her mother did the tests just to get her and her brother off her back. Taylor then wrote, "The results came in, and I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I'd like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know."

Swift said that her mother wanted everyone to know because it might help remind them that getting checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle with the disease. Taylor's mother also wanted people to know that she might not be able to go to as many of Swift's upcoming shows because she has an important battle to fight. Taylor concluded the message by saying, "Thank you for caring about my family so much that she would want me to share this information with you. I hope and pray that you never get news like this."
