The Knot just released their annual wedding survey, which found the average wedding now costs $31,213, not including the honeymoon. That's up about $1,500 from last year. Here are ten more stats from the survey.
1. The most expensive place to get married is Manhattan, where the average wedding costs most than $76,000. The cheapest is Utah, where it's just over $15,000.2. The most expensive part of a wedding is renting the venue, which costs an average of $14,000.3. The average bride spends $1,357 on their dress . . . and the groom only spends $254 on the tux.4. The average bride is 29 years old, and the average groom is 31.5. The average number of guests is 136.6. The average number of bridesmaids is between four and five.7. The most popular month to get engaged is December . . . 16% of all proposals happen that month. And the most popular month to get married is June.8. The average engagement lasts 14 months.9. 24% of weddings today are destination weddings.10. 45% of weddings go over budget . . . and only 6% stay under budget.
